Thanks so much for extending the invitation to collaborate, Katie! I’m looking forward to seeing how others access a rhythm of rest in their writing!

Such an interesting topic and I'm looking forward to diving in to the other posts you referenced. Writing is generally restful for me. When I'm writing for Substack, I tend to find my images first and then have a conversation with them to see what they want to say, rather than feeling I have to suck all the ideas and words out of my brain. I can get into a deep flow state when I'm writing - and then I tend to hit publish more or less as soon as I'm done to avoid becoming critical and starting to stress about it.

Getting out of our heads and into that flow state can be tricky at times! I love how you sit with images, contemplating them as a pathway towards clarity, voice, and flow in your writing! That is beautiful, friend—and restful! And the practice of hitting publish before your head can “say” anything else is so wise. Thanks for sharing, Phoebe!

Hello Katie, thank you so much for this article. I loved your description of dancing to unlock ideas. As a former dancer, it's so wonderful to think of how prayer can be embodied. Every blessing
